Preeti Aroon

Preeti Aroon was copy chief at Foreign Policy from 2009 to 2016 and was an assistant editor from 2007 to 2009. During her tenure, she copy-edited articles to ensure that authors weren’t confusing “its” and “it’s,” referring to someone named “Obama bin Laden,” mistaking “Elliott Abrams” for “Eliot Cohen,” misspelling “Srebrenica,” or inserting two (or more! ) spaces after periods. Aroon has strong feelings about comma splices. Formerly a copy editor and contributing columnist for the Lexington Herald-Leader, Aroon holds a master's degree in public policy from Duke University and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky.
