The dog is "Sinbad", the sailor. Sinbad is attached to the U.S. Coast Guard cutter which had the epic fight with six U-Boats in 12 hours this past winter. Sinbad is a permanent member of the crew and keeps his eye peeled on the convoy, while at sea. He takes life and his responsibilities pretty seriously. He follows the ship's routine rigidly, appears for inspections, answers calls to generals quarters and goes ashore with regular liberty parties. --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS
